General Guidance

Entity types and entities

Role-specific access

Universal Accessibility: The logic of entity types and entities within types applies to every user in vucavoid regardless of assigned role(s).

Tenants

vucavoid provides a straightforward approach to compliance management for its clients. Every client has its own tenant set up once the client signs up for trial or direct subscription (regardless of monthly or annual subscription). The tenant is the highest element in order to understand, how vucavoid structures access to compliance management.

To learn more about vucavoid's multi-tenant setup, view the documentation page on it.

Entity types

vucavoid is aiming at providing a comprehensive approach to compliance management without becoming too complex, differentiating itself from the competition. In doing so, vucavoid classifies different entity types that act like guardrails between different parts of compliance management; ensuring, clients find a coherent procedure to be applied to their compliance management for increased effectiveness and efficiency.

These entity types can be mainly understood by looking at the main sidebar navigation of vucavoid, listing risks, incidents, threats, controls and more. These are our entity types.

Entities

Within the compliance management of virtually every organization, there are multiple instances of entity types. Every entity is a real-world application/occurrence of the entity type (which is acting like a category to the entity).

So, given an example of the entity type risk, an entity is a specific single risk. Since there are multiple risks to every risk management in a compliance context, multiple entities (specific risks) belong to the same entity type (risks as a category)

Examples

The following is solely meant to depict the differences and relations between entity types and entities. The quantity of specific entity types or the specifications of particular entites have no impact on the differences or relations and are purely random.
